About

Feeling Data is a visualization studio partnering up with organisations and institutions to build change through data, community, and arts.

our story

Feeling Data isn’t just a studio – it’s a long-standing collaboration built on curiosity, shared values, and the joy of turning complex information into experiences people can feel.

Dorsey and Parker’s story starts back in University, where a computer-science-driven Parker and an MFA-plus-environmental-science Dorsey teamed up on Project Harvest

Together, they built data visualizations that helped Arizona community members understand contamination levels in their own water, soil, and plants – early proof that data could be both empowering and deeply human.

After graduating, they went on to build their own careers in data visualization:

Dorsey became known for her unconventional and artistic data vis work, earning industry awards and collaborating with organizations like the World Bank.

Parker honed her craft at major New York studios such as Two-N and the Associated Press, contributing to high-impact, widely recognized projects.

In 2024, they reunited to form Feeling Data, a studio based in New York and Edinburgh that bridges industry projects and academic research. They work with passionate individuals, organizations, and research teams on ambitious, data-driven creative projects, using diverse and human-centered approaches to visualization.

Dorsey now lectures at the Institute of Design Informatics, further strengthening those academic–industry ties. This past summer, Feeling Data supported a student internship with the World Bank, continuing their commitment to nurturing emerging talent in data visualization.
